Language Support

This is a showcase of Tagxedo's language support. All images are obtained by taking the content of the English version of Wikipedia pages describing the language (for example, the Spanish page is created from words in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_language), and translating the page to the corresponding language using Google Translate. The same image (The Dove of Peace) is used, and the themes are chosen arbitrarily. It took a total of 25 minutes to create all 12 images (getting the data, minor tuning in some cases, saving the image and playerable app). In other words, it is easy to do!

Chinese, Japanese, and Korean languages (and possibly a few others, perhaps mistakenly) are processed differently than English-like languages, since there is no explicit word break.

Moreover, Tagxedo only supports stop words (discarding common words such as "is", "are") and stemming (counting "car" and "cars" as the same word) for the English language, and therefore you may find that the highlighted words are not necessarily the most important. A feature to support per-language stop-word will be added later if demand is strong. In any case, besides from the English and Chinese versions, I have absolutely no idea what words were displayed. If I made any mistake, please first forgive me, and then tell me.

If your mother tongue is not featured here, don't worry. You can go try it on Tagxedo yourself!
